Unbeknownst to most people is the fact that historical disasters strike nations that make efforts to remove the Promised Land from Israel. Here is the case of The Perfect Storm
RESOURCE: The Israel Omen
As Bob Case peered at his meteorological data, he knew the seriousness of the situation having seen every type of severe weather develop over his 25 years with the National Weather Service. Case knew that what he was looking at now was unprecedented. He also knew that the forces coming together would form a monster storm with three distinct storm systems converging into one. On October 28, 1991, as the powerful and stormy weather systems converged to create the monster, it gave the appearance that the atmosphere had gone completely crazy.
The three storm systems converge like three undesirable characters meeting for an unsavory purpose creating one terrible mega storm of incredible power and fury. As Case and his Weather Service colleagues began the process of issuing whether advisories to the New England Coastal residents, their alerts were met with some skepticism. The storm had appeared too suddenly, and the sky outside was still blue. But another aspect of the advisory stretched the imagination of the coastal residents, many of whom were familiar with the sea. It included a warning of Titanic waves that the ferocious tempest would birth. Waves of a terrible height, the kind usually reserved for seafaring tales told to children on rainy days along the New England coast. But as one unfortunate sea captain and his crew were about to discover this story was no tale.
For fishing boats along the coast like the Andrea Gail, and her Captain Billy Tyne, there was just enough notice given to race for safe harbor before the worst of the storm would arrive. That is if they chose to come in. But Tyne and his crew would instead remain at sea to harvest swordfish. A decision that would send the Andrea Gale and her crew to the bottom of the ocean and even deeper into seafaring lore in the movie, The Perfect Storm
The Effort to Remove Israel’s Land
Sometimes events simply happen. That is to say that they happen so perfectly that no amount of planning could achieve the same result. So, it was with the current Middle East peace climate. The conditions had fallen into place like a concerto managed by master maestro who in this case was James Baker, Secretary of State for the United States. The prior year Saddam Hussein had invaded Kuwait, a small but oil rich Persian Gulf nation. In response, the United States had organized and led a coalition of nations under the banner of Operation Desert Storm. Dedicated to Hussein’s defeat, the coalition included Middle Eastern nations which cooperated with the U.S. led effort. It was, however, the primacy of U.S. military might that was demonstrated on that battlefield that now lent even more significance to the fact that the United States engaged in organizing a peace conference whose main goal would be the removal of land from Israel for a middle east peace settlement. Land called the “Promised Land” due to the Lord deeding it to the Jews. Effectively, it was an effort to reverse a promise of God.
The Storm
The storm’s Fury finally struck on October 30, 1991, and brought sustained winds of at least seventy miles per hour. Buoys reporting off the coast of Long Island showed that the wind was whipping up 40-to-80-foot waves across the North Atlantic. Other buoys reporting off the Nova Scotia Coast recorded higher winds and a wave that reached a height of 101 feet. Bob Case would later be quoted as saying it was an unprecedented set of circumstances that caused The Perfect Storm to develop, to explode to epic proportions and then head for the coast. If any of the components were out of sync, the epic storm would not have happened. Case would conclude you were looking at a set of meteorological circumstances that come together maybe every 50 to 100 years.
As the attendees began shaking hands to begin the Madrid conference on October 30, 1991, the worst that The Perfect Storm had to offer struck the bewildered New England coastal towns with waves of 30 to 40 feet striking the shore. As President George Bush was in Madrid delivering the opening remarks to the conference, Kennebunkport Maine was being slammed by a 30-foot wave that crashed over the president’s house located there causing severe damage the first floor ripped open by the raging sea. Exposing the family sitting room, a bedroom, and the living room, the furious waves sending the bush furniture into the ocean.
Scientists that study the storm state that its formation and retrogression made it a freak of nature. This freak of nature struck just as the Madrid peace conference was beginning on the other side of the ocean with the conferences ultimate purpose to remove land from Israel. Was the storm’s timing just a coincidence? It could easily be such if the story stopped here. But the story does not end here with the Perfect Storm. It only begins.
