There is a prophecy in the Bible which appears to relate to America. And if this interpretation of that prophecy is correct, then America will be set free from the darkness that currently has a firm grip on it. Exactly how this will happen the prophet does not say. Consider this optimistic case for America in Bible prophecy.
In ancient times, the prophet Daniel foretold cataclysmic events that would reshape the course of human history. Among his prophecies, a particular interpretation holds that America, founded by devout Christians, breaks free from the Antichrist kingdom. And, strangely, it may be that President Trump will play a central role in its fulfillment. Here is that prophetic scenario.
In Daniel chapter 7, the prophet unveils details about four distinct kingdoms that will emerge during the end times. One of these is the Beast Kingdom ruled by the Antichrist. Intriguingly, Daniel associates the three additional kingdoms with the Antichrist. And they are presented using animal symbolism—a lion, a leopard, and a bear. Deciphering the identities of these kingdoms holds immense significance for the future of America. But first consider the verses in question.
The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. “And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. “After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard.
Daniel 7
The prophecy uses animal symbolism to represent kingdoms on the earth. But which kingdoms? To that question there is this. Notice that the lion has eagle’s wings on its back, signifying a closeness between the lion and the eagle. Interestingly, in our modern day, the lion is accepted as representing the nation of Great Britain, while the eagle symbolizes America. And not only is the animal symbolism for both nations correct, but there is a closeness between the two just as the prophecy indicates. Great Britain and America are currently the closest of allies. However, in Daniel’s prophecy the two nations appear to experience an unexpected break in their relationship, with the eagle’s wings detaching from the lion. And that is very significant for this reason.
Daniel’s prophecy is informing us of various characteristics of the Antichrist kingdom when it will rule the earth. And one is that it is joined by major nations identified as a lion, leopard and bear. In the modern day the lion is accepted as the animal symbolism for Great Britain, the bear is the accepted animal symbolism for Russia, and the leopard is likely that of Germany. And, of course, the eagle is the animal symbolism for America. Since the eagle wings break off of the lion, this would appear to indicate that as the lion, Great Britain, joins with the Antichrist, while America refuses to and breaks away. All of this infers something else for America. That she will experience a political earthquake comparable to the revolutionary war.
The reason it will take a political earthquake comparable to the revolutionary war is because America appears to have become overtaken by forces of darkness, with its present leadership embracing magnitudes of darkness never before plumbed in history. Leadership so drenched in darkness that they will surely find the Antichrist irresistible. After all, the current leadership in America embraces an array of anti-God policies, ranging from abortion, to child sex mutilation.
So the fact that Daniel informs us the eagle will break off from the lion, who joins the Antichrist, we must assume that America has a radical change in leadership. A change that takes the nation in the opposite direction and away from darkness. Strongly implying that a certain leader will lead America back to her roots of goodness and freedom that she once enjoyed. And the only leader who currently appears to have the ability to do this, with God’s help, is Donald Trump.
But there is something relating to this prophecy that must be addressed. There are those who embrace a different reading of Daniel’s prophecy saying that it relates to kingdoms in the ancient past and not to modern day allies of the Antichrist kingdom. Those who embrace that say the lion, leopard, and bear represent the ancient kingdoms of Babylon, Media-Persia, and Greece. And if that reading is the correct one, then the optimistic reading for America presented here is wrong. However, that alternative reading suffers from a major issue.
God operates in a Spirit of order. And as such He should be expected to maintain the same animal symbolism for ancient kingdoms across different chapters. Yet, in the very next chapter, Daniel chapter 8, Media-Persia is depicted as a ram, and Greece as a goat—essentially ruling them out as candidates for the lion, leopard, or bear in the previous chapter. Consider those verses.
The ram which you saw, having the two horns—they are the kings of Media and Persia. And the male goat is the kingdom of Greece. The large horn that is between its eyes is the first king. As for the broken horn and the four that stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall arise out of that nation, but not with its power.
Daniel 8:20-22
Did you read what the prophet said. 500 years before it happened Daniel specifically foretold the rise of Media-Persia Empire and their subsequent defeat by Greece. Then, as the next scripture shows, amazingly, he indirectly identifies Alexander the Great as the “large horn” foretelling his fall and replacement by four new kings to rule the vast expanse of land he had conquered. Read his words and experience the goose bumps they cause by their incredible accuracy.
The large horn that is between its eyes is the first king. As for the broken horn and the four that stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall arise out of that nation, but not with its power.
Daniel 7
This is exactly what took place years later with Daniel writing history in advance.
Knowing that the Lord uses the animal symbolism of a ram and goat to identify Media-Persia and Greece in chapter 8, rules out the theory that they can be part of the lion, leopard and bear prophecy in chapter 7. This strengthens the likelihood that Daniel’s prophecy is identifying modern-day nations that align with the Antichrist. And, eerily, the prophecy appears to fit very well to major nations today, especially the closeness of the lion and eagle for Britain and America.
So if this reading is a correct one, then at some point America will be set free from the forces of darkness that have taken over her most powerful institutions. And the only leader on the political horizon that currently appears able to do this is President Donald Trump.
